How can I find the right plants for my garden?
Thank you for your interest in planting native plants to help wildlife! You can shop our native plant collections by zip code to get our recommendations for your area here.
To find plants that are good for the specific conditions of your garden, you can use the filters located on the left-hand side of the screen on the page linked above. The "Meet Your Plants" section on the product details page for each collection also has more info on the specific soil and sun requirements for the individual plants. If you have any additional questions about the plants, please contact our customer care team at info@gardenforwildlife.com
A note on hardiness zones: The USDA Hardiness Zone Map is a standardized system used to classify regions in the United States based on their average annual minimum winter temperatures. The map divides the country into numbered zones, with each zone representing a 10-degree Fahrenheit difference in the average lowest temperature experienced during the winter months. USDA Hardiness Zone information is sometimes used by gardeners to determine which plants are likely to thrive in their particular area based on temperature tolerances.
Knowing the hardiness zone becomes less critical when planting native plants because native species are inherently adapted to the local climate conditions of the region where they naturally occur. Because we only ship plants to areas where they are native, filtering by zip code before shopping is the best way to see which plants will thrive where you live.
