Shipping Timeframes
We work hard to make sure you receive healthy plants that will lead to a thriving wildlife garden. Our growers nurture your plants until the timing is best to send them your way. Shipping begins each year in spring after the last frost date for your area has passed and ends in early fall when the plants start to go dormant.
Most shipping regions are still accepting pre-orders for Spring 2025 but the southeast (Florida and neighboring states) has begun to ship pre-orders in the order they were received. Check your shipping region for details on expected shipping start dates.
If the shipping window for where you’re planting is open, your plants will ship within 10 business days* of the order date. You’ll receive a confirmation email from orders@gardenforwildlife.com with tracking information as soon as your order ships.
*Important note: To ensure your plants arrive healthy, we may delay shipments to certain areas during times of extreme temperatures, natural disasters, or other conditions that will impact the plants during transit. Any delays will be clearly communicated. For more information, read our Shipping Policy or check our FAQs.
We are currently shipping out pre-orders (orders placed after October 13, 2024) in your region. Pre-orders are shipped in the order that they were received. Our growers are working hard to get these shipped out as quickly as possible. Once all pre-orders have shipped, the shipping window status will move to “Open”. As always, you’ll receive a confirmation email from orders@gardenforwildlife.com with tracking information as soon as your order ships.
We are now accepting pre-orders for Spring 2025. Place your order today to be first in line when shipping resumes next spring! You’ll receive a confirmation email from orders@gardenforwildlife.com with tracking information as soon as your order ships.
What is my USDA Hardiness Zone?

Sometimes called “growing zones,” hardiness zones refer to a map developed by the USDA that separates the United States into regions based on the average low winter temperatures. The USDA Hardiness Zone Map is the standard by which gardeners and growers can determine which plants are most likely to thrive at a location. The map is based on the average annual minimum winter temperature, divided into 10-degree F zones and further divided into 5-degree F half-zones.

5/7Worth the Investment
I have been so impressed with each delivery I've received. The packaging is superb, keeping the plants in a safe, healthy state during shipping. Each plant has been healthy and strong, transplanting and thriving. Every single plant I ordered and put in my garden last year, came back strong this year - acting every bit like a 3rd year plant. I love my 3 Little Bluestem plugs and can't wait to watch them grow next year. Absolutely worth the cost!

7/7Beautiful and Resilient!
I planted them this spring so no flowers yet but I did accidentally break the stem for two of the plants which had ALL the leaves. I thought the plant was a goner BUT it came back. The root system was strong even for the little plants and it is back to thriving again.

Not all arrived alive
I was very excited to get these plants, but 1 was almost completely dead when the package arrived, and half of another plant is dead. I understand that it was very hot when they arrived, maybe it would have been better to ship them a little later. Anyway, I hope that the 1 healthy plant and the 1/2 of the other plant will survive. The 3rd one is completely dead despite my efforts to revive it.

The plants that arrived were very small for the price I paid and not in great condition.

Disappointed
Poor. Over one half of the plants were dead and they are not cheap.
