Our Grower Standards
Growers in our network must meet the following requirements:
- Absolutely NO neonicotinoids, nor similar chemicals, are used at the facility where the Garden for Wildlife line of plants are grown. (In addition to not having our plants directly sprayed with these chemicals, we cannot risk exposure from atmospheric drift.)
- Compliance with all current federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, including possession of a valid business license.
- Dedicated space to grow the native plant species we request. Grow space and operation must be fit to ensure crop growth consistency and is ideally in a greenhouse or hoophouse. If you are a smaller or new business, we are able to adjust our plant grow minimums to fit your size and happy to work with you to help you grow.
- A means to acquire seeds for growing native species. If needed, we can help broker a seed supplier.
- Documented integrated pest control process.
