Our growers nurture your plants until the timing is best to send them your way. Shipping begins each year in spring after the last frost date for your area has passed and ends in early fall when the plants start to go dormant.

    • Indian Grass (Sorghastrum nutans) is a tall prairie grass with golden-bronze seed heads and blue/green summer foliage that turns gold in fall. It provides wildlife cover and nesting sites/materials for birds and is a good companion grass for prairie flowers.

    Grown non-GMO and free of harmful neonicotinoids for healthy pollinators and planet, these Indian Grass plants for full sun:

    • Support other wildlife species including birds, butterflies, moths, and bees
    • Return each year
    • Never need chemicals and require less water once established
    • Are deer resistant, once established

Beautiful and Resilient!

I planted them this spring so no flowers yet but I did accidentally break the stem for two of the plants which had ALL the leaves. I thought the plant was a goner BUT it came back. The root system was strong even for the little plants and it is back to thriving again.
