The Hummingbird Haven plant collections were curated for their ability to provide key hummingbird habitat and supply essential food to hummingbirds for three seasons. These collections also include Swamp Milkweed, a host plant for Monarch butterflies.

These collections include native perennial plants that are especially beneficial to hummingbirds:
  • Cardinal Flower
  • Eastern Columbine
  • Wild Bergamot, Bee Balm
  • Swamp Milkweed
Grown non-GMO and free of harmful neonicotinoids for healthy pollinators and planet, these collections of sun/part shade plants will:
  • Provide key hummingbird habitat (a hummingbird welcome mat, so to speak)
  • Offer brightly colored tubular flowers that attract and provide nectar for hummingbirds
  • Support other key wildlife species, including butterflies, moths, and bees
  • Bloom across multiple seasons and return each year
  • Never need chemicals and require less water once established

Did you know? Ruby-throated hummingbirds can consume up to twice their body weight in nectar, small insects, and tree sap every day. The ruby-throated hummingbird (Archilochus colubris) is the only hummingbird native to the Eastern U.S.

These collections of native plants also have the potential to support up to:

• 2+ pollen specialist bees
• 21 butterfly/moth species, including the monarch butterfly
• 96% of backyard birds that rely on these insects to feed their young
• Dozens of other pollinator species foraging for nectar

All purchases support National Wildlife Federation’s non-profit mission to help declining wildlife and expand native plant availability nationwide.
