This host plant for monarch butterfly caterpillars is abundant with small, rose-to-deep pink flowers that sit in clusters on branching stalks with narrow leaves.

Grown non-GMO and free of harmful neonicotinoids, these native Swamp Milkweed plants for sun/part-shade:

• Support other wildlife species including birds, butterflies, moths, and bees
• Return each year
• Never need chemicals and require less water once established
• Are deer resistant, once established

Tan/brown seed pods will develop on stems in fall and remain into winter.

Available in sets of three or six plants.

Did you know? The monarch butterfly (Danaus plexippus) that relies on native milkweed to survive has declined in population by 90%. By planting milkweed, you are restoring critical habitat for monarchs and making a real difference toward saving these iconic creatures!

This set of Red Swamp Milkweed plants also has the potential to support up to:

- 12 other butterfly species
- 96% of the backyard birds that rely on these larval insects to feed their young
- Dozens of other pollinator species foraging for nectar

All purchases support National Wildlife Federation’s non-profit mission to help declining wildlife and expand native plant availability nationwide.

Building my butterfly garden

My plants arrived well packaged, but looking a little sad. I watered them lightly and they perked up nicely. Planted them the next day and they adapted well. Looking forward to watching them grow next spring.

Plants are tiny

I spent a lot of money on plants that I should of spent at my local nursery. Packed well and healthy, they will take years to be of any notable size.

Thank you for sharing your experience! We are glad to hear that your plants are healthy, but are sorry to hear that you were disappointed in the size of the plants at the time of delivery. You should expect to have more mature plants and blooms by next summer.

Fall Planting Project

I was very excited to receive my first order of plants and am not disappointed. Plants arrived in perfect condition, and have already grown since planting a few weeks ago.
